AQ10
| AQ10 is a Biofungicide that contains the fungal parasite
Amperomyces quisqualis. It is used to control powdery mildew.
AQ10 works best when used as a preventative measure but it will also
eradicate existing powdery mildew problems. Spray AQ10 at least twice
about 7 days apart and then as needed every 7 to 14 days. Application
rate is .5 to 1.0 oz per acre. Use higher rate if disease pressure is
heavy. Spray in the evening or early morning if possible. |

| ORGANICA |
Organica is a natural source, technical grade humic
acid. Organica is derived by a unique process utilizing a blend of mild
alkaline extractants, biologically fermented organic acids and low-temperature drying.
This prepares a neutral, fully water-soluble humic acid in dry granular form. This is then
made into a concentrated liquid which can be diluted for immediate use.
Organica contains a broad range of naturally occurring organic acids and
mineral elements for use in horticulture and agriculture. Humic acids are naturally
occurring compounds which possess remarkable plant growth stimulating properties. The most
important biochemically active group of the many degradation products of a soils' organic
materials, is the alkali soluble fraction commonly called the "humic acids". The
salts of these humic acids are known as the humates. They increase the water holding
capacity of soils and growing media.
Analysis reveals that Organica contains a wide range of major and minor
minerals in soluble and chelated forms. Replicated growth studies utilizing hydroponic and
container grown plants indicate numerous positive effects with the application of Organica.
Organica is intended for general agricultural and horticultural purposes
and is recommended to be mixed with macro/micro nutrient fertilizers. Organica
has no harmful effects when used at the recommended concentrations. As little as 1 oz. per
gallon or as little as 1 gallon per acre is recommended. Contains 15% humic acid. |
| For 1000 tomato plants add 4 ounces per plant in a 1:128 dilution (1 oz
per gallon). The total amount required is then 4000 ounces or about 32 gallons of dilute
solution. The amount of Humic Acid required is 32 oz (1 quart) for 1000 tomato plants at a
maximum cost of $9.95 per application. Repeat as needed but not more than once per month.
If using another Humic Acid product for nutrient deficiencies then discontinue this Humic
Acid treatment. |

Metaphycus helvolus
This small wasp is a scale parasitoid, used to control soft scale such as the black
scale and soft brown scale. It lays its egg in the body of soft scale insects. The egg
hatches and the immature wasp will feed on the pest, thus killing them. A new adult wasp
emerges to repeat the cycle. Use indoors or out.

Ef Encarsia
formosa -
Encarsia formosa is a tiny, parasitic wasp that will lay 50 - 100 eggs into Greenhouse
Whitefly larvae. |

|
|
Ef works best if introduced shortly after transplanting at the rate of 1-2 per ft2.
Usually two introductions - two weeks apart - should establish overlapping generations of
Ef. in your crop. Additional applications may be necessary if GHWF infestations flare up.
Larger operations may also elect to introduce 1 per 10ft2 every week as a
standing order. Yellow sticky traps should be used with Ef to trap adult GHWF to reduce the
pest population.
Application Rate = 1-2 Per Sq/Ft every two weeks

SP Serangium
parcesetosum A
new ladybug beetle, Serangium parcesetosum,
was collected from India in 1993 that shows
considerable promise for controlling whitefly in
greenhouses. Small and large greenhouse trials in
Connecticut and New Hampshire have shown this
ladybug to be a voracious predator of whitefly
immatures. Laboratory trials indicate that Serangium
can feed on up to 300 whitefly in a 24 hour period,
with a mean lifetime average of approximately 2,500
immature whitefly. The average lifespan of Serangium
was determined to be about 31 days.
|
 |
|
 |
Encarsia formosa
typically works well at controlling whitefly
when their numbers are low, because parasitism
rate are determined by the number of eggs the
female can produce. On the other hand,
Serangium parcesetosum works well when
whitefly numbers are moderate to high because
the immatures and adults need a lot of hosts
to continue their development. |
|
Serangium beetles should be released at a rate
of one adult per plant every two weeks over an
eight week period. The adult Serangium should be
as evenly distributed amongst the plants as
possible. Growers should continue to scout the
crop on a weekly basis to determine if whitefly
numbers are increasing, additional releases may
be warranted.
This beneficial ships by NEXT
DAY AIR ONLY.
Serangium parcesetosum must be released
soon after arrival.

CINNAMITE
has been discontinued ( ) by the manufacturer.
This should explain
it.
The medium length story is – The
Company that had the license to sell this product nation
wide decided to not sell it anymore. The rights went back
to the company that originally created this product. They
only have a license to sell in California. So as of today,
it can only be bought and sold in California. I will be
removing it from our website today to end the confusion of
this product.
Cinnamite is a broad spectrum insecticide/miticide/fungicide for use on greenhouse
crops. Cinnamite will kill most insects INCLUDING
BENEFICIALS. Cinnamite has been tested and is an effective control for
Aphids and Spidermites as well as Powdery Mildew. Cinnamite can not be applied
through any type of irrigation system. Pest must come in contact with Cinnamite in order
to be effective. Cinnamite has not been tested on all plant varieties or in all tank
mixes. Before applying to a larger number of plants, test on a small number of plants for
potential damage. Apply in the early morning or late afternoon. Spray directly onto pests
or pathogen. You should apply Cinnamite before noticeable foliar damage occurs.
Thorough spray coverage is essential for good pest control. Cinnamite works best in
the pH range of 3.5 to 7.5, pH values outside this range may cause product degradation. DO
NOT mix Cinnamite with oxidizing agents such as bleach, bases or strong acids as they will
destabilize the product.
Full strength is 1 bottle in 25 gallons of water. This is
equivalent to a 0.2% concentration. Initial trials on tomatoes show phytoxicity at a 0.3%
solution. The recommended rate for tomatoes is a 0.1% solution.
APPLICATION RATE:
For tomatoes - use 1/2 bottle per 10,000 sq.ft. - spray twice per week.
Cinnamite will probably kill beneficials, but it is safe to re-introduce them after
24 hours. |
